Maria Patalano has dedicated her professional career to the
field of Social Services. She began her “life with IBG”, over 16 years ago, as Home Companion Services Coordinator. Maria’s diligence and devotion to IBG earned
her a promotion to Executive Director, in 1999. In 2001, during Women's Month, Maria was the recipient of a citation from Assemblyman Peter Abbate. In June,
2003, Maria received the “Woman of the Year” Award from AMICO.
Giovanna Vona, Home Companion Coordinator, assists seniors, the frail and elderly with all home companion services. Giovanna confers with clients to determine their specfic needs, interviews companions, makes appointments, maintains open communication with clients through follow up phone conferences and when needed, makes referrals to other agencies. She attends Senior Center meetings on a monthly basis. She finds her position very fulfilling and looks forward to assisting her clients and their families.
Michele McMahon has been with IBG since 1998. She assists the Executive Director with all aspects of
the Italian Board of Guardians. Michele is involved with: intake of all Counseling
and Tutoring applications, fundraisers, general office management,
etc. Michele enjoys watching the children in the Tutoring Program grow to become confident learners.
She also notes the pride exhibited by their parents.
Fordham graduate and licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). He has been with IBG for over 18 years.
During this time, he has provided counseling services, as well as, cognitive and supportive psychotherapy. He works with individuals, couples and families.
An area in which Carmine has a more specific background of experience is Forensic Social Work, which has to do with court related issues.
Conseling provided in English and Italian.
Master’s Degree in School Psychology from St. John’s University.
She works for the NYC Dept. of Education, conducting evaluations,
counseling and placement of children in appropriate programs
to meet their educational needs. Counseling provided in English
and Italian.
BA/MSED Attended graduate program at Fordham in Counseling & Psychology. Previous School Counselor at P.S. 329.
Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education and training in the teaching of Balanced Literacy.
Special Education Teacher, 22 years.

Vasser College,B.A.,Political Science; New York University, M.A. Educational Technology and Communication. English/ESL Teacher for over 18 years. Experience at Scientific Universites, Certified in Social Studies Grades 7-12.
Art Education Degree from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. He is currently working as an Art Teacher in a NYC Public School..
